Darren Carroll is an Austin, Texas-based photographer specializing in the creation of sports action, location portraiture, and documentary images. His work has appeared in countless publications including Sports Illustrated, ESPN: The Magazine, Golf Digest, and Golf Magazine, Smithsonian and Forbes. A sampling of his commercial clients includes The United States Golf Association, The United States Tennis Association, The PGA Tour, PGA of America, Dick's Sporting Goods, Ping Golf, Parsley Energy, The Juilliard School, Panini America, Volvik Golf, ClubCorp, Red Bull, and the National Basketball Association.

Born and raised in New York, he received a bachelor’s degree in government from Georgetown University in Washington, D.C. In 1994, he moved to Texas to pursue a master’s degree in journalism from the University of Texas at Austin, with every intention of heading back east within two years. Almost 25 years later, he’s still in Austin, where he lives with his wife, Jessica, and their two dogs, Shea and Polo. In what spare time he has, he enjoys sampling the creative flavors of Amy’s Ice Cream in Austin with his 14 year-old son, Jake, finding great barbecue joints, distance running to burn off the consequences, and attempting to teach himself how to play a dobro, the latter without much success.
